The Harms of Drug Addiction

Spiritual
Addiciton leads to an impure state, preventing you from performing salaah and other forms of worship. This can weaken your connection with Alllah (SWT) and impact your Imaan (faith). Some substances can also cause an aversion to worship.

Mental
The use of psychedelic and other substances can cause severe mental harm, including hallucinations and sleep deprivation. This can lead to lasting damage such as Hallucinogen Persisting Peception Disorder which causes ongoing perceptual distortions.

Emotional
Isolation is common with addiction, leadind to emotional instability and low self esteem. This creates a cycle whre guilt from addiction is “treated” with more substance use, preventing you form dveleoping healthly coping skillls,

Physical
Harmful substances can severly damage the body, affecting organs like the liver. Using needles puts you at high risk for contracting diseases such as HIV, Heapatitis and Tuberculosis.

Financial
Addiction often leads to excessive spending, causing financial hardship and debt. This may lead to theft. The Barakah (blessings) are removed from ones life.

Daril Islaah offers a 90 day spiritual reformation programme rooted deeply and deen. We combine physical recovery with sportual renewal, open to all faiths. Services include: Ruqyah detox, Hijama, Counselling, Quraan Classes, Family Support and Aftercare and Reintegration.
